I have been in this school for three years and they have supported me for all those years. This is the only school that helped me with my deaf ear problem. It has really helped being able to learn in class.

I am a special education teacher at Lodestar Upper School. Even in the middle of a pandemic, we are providing our students who have exceptional learning needs with avenues to access grade level content and ample one-one-one and small group support. Perhaps more importantly, our school consistently conveys to our students a deep belief in their ability to learn and succeed, regardless of learning difference. I have built powerful, trusting relationships with the families of my students through regular Zoom meetings, phone calls and texts. This has been especially important given that we are not on campus, and our partnerships with families ensure that students have what they need in order to learn in their home environments. The teachers and administrators have gone far beyond what I have seen in other schools in order to support our students in special education. Lodestar is an exceptional school for exceptional young people. I urge you to renew our charter.

Hi my name is Luis and I'm a 9th grader here at Lodestar and I would not like Lodestar closed for any reason.This is my third year here and Lodestar is not only a school,but a family.Don't get me wrong we do learn and get prepared for the real world,but we have fun by doing it.We as a community take care of each other and welcome everyone who steps in Lodestar because we support everybody.So please don't close my favorite school.When I was in 7th grade in a different school I was scared because I thought to myself that this school is not for me.But my parents sent me to Lodestar thinking it would be like any other school,but boy was I wrong.Everyone came and welcomed me and I began to make friends in a matter seconds.That's how much Lodestar means to me and to everyone who comes here to learn and to have fun.

I have a strong connection with my teachers as well,as if they were my guardians who took care of me and watched me grow. Lodestar is my home and i would be devastated if it got shut down.
