i am a 9th grader in lodestar, i have been at this school since the 7th grade, for those years i have been here they have been the best for my education, the teachers here have always been helpful, caring and whenever i needed them, they were there for me
I think that it's best to support this school mainly due to its higher standards as a school in general and it shows in their students to if you bother to look in their statistics for their grades and the average score per student
I am a new teacher at Lodestar Middle School. I came to Lodestar because I saw a community that works to empower students and families of Oakland through enacting their core values of integrity, love, agency and social justice. The staff is invested in the community. The quality and vision of the education that Lodestar wants to provide, and the strong relationships between teachers, families and students was inspiring to witness when I was inquiring about the school. As a young, Black educator, I wanted to start my career in a place that challenged me to be the best teacher I could be, and to instill practices and habits in me that are culturally sustaining and liberatory. Lodestar seeks to disrupt patterns of inequity that exist within our schools, and we need more time to enact the lasting change we all want to see. Please renew our charter and see what we can do!
I'm a 8th grader at lodestar i will soon graduate from lodestar i have been at lodestar for 3 years and i love the positivity everyday when i go to school everyone is so supported, it's a great school for anyone, our school spreads love, integrity and more lodestar is a amazing and welcoming place to be, we have created a big family in lodestar and hopefully i get to see them again, if it doesn't close down so please don't.
I approve for Lodestar charter renewal because it is a community that iḿ am apart of and this community is willing to help anyone. And since I think different from everyone, somethings may be hard for me to get. But Lodestar makes sure that I get it. And I like that in fight (that we don´t get that often) we don´t suspend the student instead we be in a group so we can talk of we think what happen and what we felt about it. That to me think that it better. This are my reason why Lodestar need to stay.
Lodestar is a amazing school with amazing teachers with a amazing principal always when there's something wrong he always tries to fix things in order for us to be able to learn and have fun lodestar is a amazing campus in general been there for 3 years my siblings go to lodestar too and we all love the campus and the teachers amazing school really recommend it!
I support lodestar staying open because in my short time here, it's been very fun and I don't want the school to close before i'm done with my first year.
