We are a proud founding Lodestar family! My children are currently in 5th and 8th grade. I am so proud of lodestar! The school has provided my family with an incredible amount of support! The foundation that my students have received attending lodestar has surpassed my expectations from a public school. My daughter has great support from all of her teachers. My son is appropriately challenged academically. As a parent my concerns and opinions not only matter to school leadership but are consistently asked to be a part of greater decisions. We are so grateful to be a part of wonderful Lodestar community! Please renew our charter!
Lighthouse has been a very good school for my kids because they feel safe around others and have a great time. They have been getting the best education and I think the teachers are really nice and good to us. Teachers pay attention to the students if they are confused, please don't close Lighthouse because our family wouldn't be able to find other and better school.
As an OUSD family w/ 2 Black Filipino children (4th grade daughter @ Lodestar + 6th grader @ Edna Brewer MS), I wholeheartedly support the Lodestar Charter renewal. The political debate about “charter vs. district-run” schools is divisive/fraught w/ politics. Bottom line = ALL our students deserve high-quality, public education. Parents deserve choice (regardless of the neighborhood they live in, income, race, or learning needs). Lodestar centers racial equity & economic inclusion in their values/approach. Our daughter is thriving, has a love of learning, and is surrounded by phenomenal, trained staff who see/validate her. She has a 504 & Lodestar’s support for special needs students are exceptional. Lodestar staff are Oakland; students are socio-economically diverse; we serve important East Oakland neighborhoods; & the learning model & curricula are multi-modal. Our diverse children deserve to continue their academic journey at Lodestar & request a vote in support of charter renewal.

I support the renewal of Lodestar Community Charter School. My son loves this school. The love and support he has received the past 3 years has been immeasurable.
The Lighthouse community has provided a big leap for my daughter’s education since the beginning of this school year when moving from another school that unfortunately did not meet up to my standards (taking into consideration that they were dealing with another budget cut). Only has it been a couple of months since she enrolled and already she has retained what she has learned in school aligned with the Lighthouse community; to keep it open for two or more years open would ensure that she can continue attending there and continue with education where she has fun as she actually learns during class.
My family is new to lodedstar and we already love it. The small community makes me feel more comfortable about their safety while at school and also that my two IEP students will be at a greater chance of getting as much help as needed to become graduates and scholars of lodestar. My ninth grader has the opportunity to be in the first to graduate from the new high school. She is extremely excited about being such an important part of something like that. This is the ultimate encourager for her We love the hospitality of the principal, dean ,staff and teachers. Not to mention the IEP team is excellent and totally into assuring that both my daughters have the help and resources they need even in this distant learning phase. As a single parent looking for reassurance of my daughters education thru high school., I believe we have arrived at the right school. We are looking forward to working with and forming lasting relationship over the next 4-5 years. Thanks for the renewal of Lodestar.
I support the Loadstar renewal because my 4 nieces good educations depends. I also have a 2 Lighthouse students. They always have positive things to say about does schools. Loadstar is a great school with great staff. Loadstar is a school fill with diversity, respect, love and many more incredible things are. I want for my nephews to keep attending Loadstar and Lighthouse.

We support lodestar charter school. My daughter attends this school and she is a 4th grader and I have to say she loves the school and so do we. She has learned how to write , read and the teachers are doing there best to help her to get better In math! And I feel like the attention she has received is amazing! Always getting help!

I am a student at Lodestar and it is a very good school. If Lodestar closed, all the other students, teachers, and I, wouldn't be able to go to the amazing school anymore so please keep the charter school open!
My daughter in a 9th grader at Lodestar and is doing outstanding at this Charter school. I am looking forward to her being one of the first to graduate from there. I look forward to the continuing them to stay open.
I am a Lodestar parent to two students a 6th grader and a Founding 9th grade student. Lodestar is a fantastic school. When my oldest student started at Lodestar she was struggling with her reading and math but the teachers noticed and didn't let her fall between the cracks and talked to me and my husband in front of my daughter and said that she has a lot Of work to do before she gets to the 8th grade because if not there would be a really big chance that she would have to repeat the 8th grade. They didn't leave my daughter by herself every teacher that she had helped her and pushed her as well as myself and my husband and now she's a 9th grader a founding high school student at lodestar and I couldn't be prouder of her. The teachers and all the staff at lodestar had something to do with that the way they motivate their students the way that they care and love for them is so amazing and I couldn't have asked for a better team to be a part of they are like family.

As a former OUSD Teacher, now retired, I support Lodestar renewal. Here is why:
1. The school environment is conducive for successful learning. My Grandson Lawrence Jesus has attended for the previous 2 1/2 years.
2. Lodestar provides curriculum that is engaging and appears to be inclusive of every student, no matter their ability.
3. The staff and administration seem to be highly qualified and committed to all students high level of learning.
4. I have visited Lodestar on numerous occasions, and served as volunteer for the day. I have always felt welcomed and included.
5. My Grandson Lj’s Mom is an essential worker and the staff has gone beyond the line of duty to ensure L.J. remain engaged in his learning.
6. The Teachers and Principal has taken a personal interest in Lj’s learning.
7. I pray Lodestar receive it’s renewal and Grandson Lj continue his successful academic learning.
