13-2111 Ratification by the Board of Education of a Professional Services Contract between District and Carter-Kelly Consulting/Lifepoint, Oakland, CA, for the latter to develop parental involvement strategies and provide pertinent information and education for high school parents including parent engagement and participation events, gathering information and data from parents, including supporting the gathering of California Healthy Kids Survey (CHKS) data, allying with parents to develop a more ethnically and socio-economically diverse Parent Advisory Council, and encouraging parent presence and participation; teach parents successful communication techniques with their high school children and their teachers and prepare parents' expectations for high school tasks, especially developing strategies with their children for graduation and college and career readiness, at Oakland Technical High School, for the period August 8, 2013 through December 31, 2013, in an amount not to exceed $30,008.00.

13-2354 Ratification by the Board of Education of a Professional Services Contract between the District and Shamonica Clark, Oakland, CA, for the latter to serve as the PA consultant on the Healthy and Active Kids: Ready to Learning Program as follows: train and support in the Instant Recess and Take 10 curriculum; communicate effectively with teachers and students; prepare and implement lessons and materials for physical activities in conjunction with well- defined structures and objectives; lead activity breaks to model use of curriculum; conduct program evaluation; and schedule trainings, meetings and other appointments, through the Family, Schools and Community Partnership Department, for the period of July 23, 2013 through June 30, 2014, in an amount not to exceed $20,500.00.

13-2359 Ratification by the Board of Education of a Professional Services Contract between the District and MBA Project, Inc., Oakland, CA, for the latter to provide 480 hours of service at four (4) continuation high school sites, to conduct classroom and group anti-tobacco/marijuana presentations, drug awareness sessions for students violating OUSD tobacco/drug free policies, conduct cessation and life skills counseling, and academic advocacy; partner with High School site Coordination of Services Teams (COST) and administrators on tobacco/marijuana use referral and intervention process and survey all program students for mandatory health education and multi-session counseling, complete monthly reports, and attend all program meetings, through the Family, Schools, and Community Partnerships Department, for the period of August 26, 2013 through June 6, 2014, in an amount not to exceed $25,200.00.

13-2360 Professional Services Contract - Moira De Nike - Health and Wellness - Family, School, and Community Partnerships Department
13-2372 Ratification by the Board of Education of a Professional Services Agreement between District and Lamar Hancock, Oakland, CA, for the latter to work with school administration and teachers to support the academic success of rising 9th graders who have struggled academically in middle school or otherwise are identified by the District as high risk of dropping out of high school as follows: (1) Implement an online literacy course to accelerate reading skills of at risk students; (2) Support administrators and teachers in each of the ninth grade houses or small learning communities ("SLC") in their collaborative efforts to ensure the academic success of all 9th graders, with a particular emphasis on those most at risk, which include our African American students; and (3) Support administrators and teachers to increase attendance and reduce suspensions, particularly for African American and Latino males, for the period July 1, 2013 through August 13, 2013, in an amount not to exceed $3,575.00.
