Hello my name is Ysabel. I am 13 year old in 8h grade. I live in District 5, represented by Director Lerma. I believe in freeing Palestine because there are many innocent people suffering. In the world, I see a lot of people supporting Palestine. Kids at my school want s permanent ceasefire because we want to learn more about Palestine and we want to help the people in Palestine. As a student in Oakland, this affects me because I know that there are many people in Palestine without food, water, and shelter. Knowing this makes me upset. As a 13 year old, what's happening in Palestine is affecting my perspective because there are many schools and hospitals getting destroyed. So many kids are suffering. I hope you as adults, parents, and educators can see the value in a ceasefire resolution coming from Oakland. Please vote yes on a permanent ceasefire resolution.

Hello, my name is Vicky. I'm 13 years old and I am in 8th grade and i'm in OUSD. I believe in “Free Palestine” because what I see happening is lots of people dying, bombs (hospital), shootings (school). In the world I see a lot of protests about supporting Palestine.
Kids at my school want to see a permanent ceasefire because 24,000 people died in Palestine. This issue impacts families who live in Palestine, and the people in hospitals and children in these schools. When it comes to Solidarity it's important to show solidarity because it shows that we are trying to support and help Palestine with their situation. I am a 13 years old student and this influences my P.O.V. because kids in Palestine are getting harmed and the schools are getting destroyed so they aren't getting education. I hope you as adults, parents, and educators, can see that we are supporting Palestine by doing a ceasefire protest.
PLEASE VOTE YES ON PERMANENT CEASEFIRE RESOLUTION!!!

As a student in Oakland this impacts me because the thought of people being killed makes me feel upset that this is happening. This affects me because young generations in Palestine are dying and it is just so messed up. I hope you as adults, parents and educators can show your support to a ceasefire resolution from Oakland. Please vote yes on a permanent ceasefire resolution.

Hello my name is Yarel. I am 14 years old and I am in 8th grade and I'm in OUSD. I believe in a permanent ceasefire in Palestine because there are many innocent people that are living in worry and that are affected by what's going on. Kids at my school want to see a permanent ceasefire because we are currently learning about it during class and stuff that we see is many people being affected by the war. When it comes to solidarity it is important to show it because you might not know what someone is going through and showing solidarity can also bring attention to what's going on. I am someone who doesn't like to speak out and this influences my experience because I'm not able to put my opinions out there. I hope you as adults, parents and educators, can show support for Palestine and do what's right for the community in Oakland. Please vote yes on a permanent ceasefire resolution.

Hello, my name is Andres. I'm 13 years old and I'm in the 8th grade in OUSD. I believe in a free Palestine because everyone should be able to know what it feels like to be free, In the world I see happening is anyone supporting Palestine would get bombed too. Kids in my school want a ceasefire to stop the genocide that is happening to innocent people in Palestine. This impacts my daily because knowing the money I used to buy items could be used as money to fund Israel with the genocide they committed with that money, and I say we should boycott all the companies that use the money they make to help Israel with the genocide they're doing. I hope you as adults, parents, and educators, can be able to see what wrong Israel is doing with the money you spend on your everyday lives and realize this is a genocide and not a war. Please vote yes on a permanent ceasefire resolution

Hello, my name is Jose. I am 14 years old. I believe that Israelis stop attacking Palestine because they are killing thousands of innocent people. In the world, the us started to bomb Yemen. Kids at my school want to learn more about this war because students want to know what is happening and what they can do to stop this war. This issue impacts both locally and globally because people globally are seeing people from Palestine getting killed and the people globally are traumatised. As a student in Oakland, this impacts my daily life by making me feel bad about the people getting killed. I am Mexican, and I identify myself as Catholic. I have no experience with this and this does not influence my POV. I think that this issue affects us in Oakland because we see people getting killed. I hope you as adults, parents, and educators, can create a strike. We can make this stop. Israel has power because they are getting weapons from the US. Please vote Yes on a permanent ceasefire resolution.

Hello,my name is Michelle. I am 14 years old and I am in 8th grade. I live in District 5 represented by Director Lerma. I believe that no innocent people should die in wars.In Palestine there is a lot of crying suffering in the cold, there are homeless people that just wish the war would stop and everyone would be at peace. Kids at my school want to learn about what is happening between Palestine and Israel because they have heard kids and families dying in the war. This issue impacts people here in Oakland who have family in Palestine because they have heard many Palestinians suffering. When it comes to solidarity we should all come together as a community to help one another even if it means taking risks to help each other. I am a Latin American girl who is christian who thinks that no one should endure any kind of situation like this conflict happening in Palestine. I hope as adults and educators to consider a ceasefire because It's heartbreaking for some people and to me

Emmanuel Meza Arreguin 9 months ago

Hello, my name is Emmanuel, I am 13 years old and I am in the 8th grade. I see Palestine and Israel getting bombed and I feel bad for the innocent people from both these countries being bombed because of their leaders and the tension that Palestine and Israel have always had because of the historical land . Kids at my school want a ceasefire between Israel and Palestine as more and more innocent people keep dying each day and I agree . This issue impacts people whose family live or are from Palestine/Israel but mostly the people that are actually living in those conditions and that are threatened each day suffer the most . I am Mexican and catholic and my view is to stop the war as it's happening in historic/religious land and the war is pointless as all its doing is causing a lot casualties and ruining or ending innocent peoples lives . I hope you adults, parents and educators, can see the importance in a ceasefire resolution. Please vote yes on a permanent ceasefire resolution.

We demand that President Davis adhere himself to the bylaw of the OUSD board, and AGENDIZE THE CEASEFIRE RESOLUTION that a majority of the board supports. During his first month in office, President Davis has illegally silenced the ceasefire resolution, which a majority of the board wants to agendize (OUSD Bylaw 9322). Arab, Muslim and Palestinian students do not feel safe at school because of the ongoing genocide in Gaza, the silence in their schools, and the censorship around talking about Palestine. This is causing a significant drop in attendance from our Arab students. President Davis is responsible for representing OUSD students and following our democratic processes to address school district concerns. This resolution process has included countless meetings with board members and community members who are responding to the impact of this humanitarian crisis on our students. President Davis - Stop silencing community voices and agendize Resolution No. 2324-0159 for a vote.

Hello my name is Maribel. I am 14 years old and I am in 8th grade. I am an OUSD student. I believe in freeing Palestinians because many people, children are dying and not knowing they're going to make it out alive. People shouldn’t have to worry if they are not coming home. They should be able to return home but the government is stopping them. They are treated like they're not human beings and many are innocent people who don't deserve to die. Children shouldn't go through this either because they are just kids and they have a long life ahead of them and it is not fair for them.Kids at my school want a ceasefire because the war is impacting the people in Israel and in Palestinians. The people are getting separated from their families. This also impacts me and the other people because we are trying to help the people but nothing has been done.

Hello, my name is Husuke. I’m 14 years old and I’m an 8th grader in OUSD. I believe in a free Palestine because they’ve done nothing wrong but thousands of innocent people are dying everyday. In the world, I see a lot of groups getting oppressed because of their race, ethnicity, sexuality etc. Kids at my school want to see a permanent ceasefire because that's the best resolution to this oppression and mistreatment that’s been going on for 75+ years. When it comes to solidarity, it's really important since that's one of the only ways to support and stand up for them as of now. As a young student and a person of color, this makes me think that people of my age are getting bombed and oppressed, which is crazy. It's also ridiculous how people are still getting mistreated because of their ethnicity and beliefs. I hope you as adults, parents and educators can show solidarity and speak up for Palestine so that a permanent ceasefire can happen. Please vote yes on a permanent ceasefire.

I’m writing in strong support of putting the Ceasefire resolution back on the agenda! As a teacher in OUSD and a community member from District 1, I know we have to exert the power we can on the local level to influence our Federal government to intervene and stop Israel from its genocidal campaign against the Palestinians.
