14-0212 Approval by the Board of Education of a directive to the Superintendent of Schools to assess the feasibility of placing a District parcel tax measure on the November 2014 General Election Ballot to raise local revenue to ensure all high school students graduate and are prepared to succeed in college, career, and life after high school. The feasibility assessment shall address and answer the following questions: 1. What is the budget required to enable every high school to enroll every single student in a high-quality career academy or career pathway program (characterized by access to a full sequence of A-G classes; career technical education classes; work-based learning; and comprehensive wrap-around student support services)? 2. What is the leadership-readiness of each high school and central administration to systematically develop and establish high-quality career academies and career pathway programs for all high school students? 3. What is the state of the Measure G Parcel Tax Independent Citizens' Oversight Committee? 4. What are Oakland voters' attitudes toward a possible parcel tax measure in support of improving high school education?
