15-2140 Ratification by the Board of Education of a Professional Services Contract between the District and World Savvy, San Francisco, CA, for the latter to provide professional development workshops to aid the systemic integration of global competence into teaching and learning, supporting teachers to: Develop and enhance their own global competence; Design and implement learning experiences that builds students' global competence; Select and use resources that promote multi-perspectives, empathy and deep understanding of significant global issues; and Work collaboratively with peers to analyze and refine lessons, as described in the Scope of Work, incorporated herein by reference as though fully set forth, through the Teaching and Learning Department, for the term October 16, 2015 through June 30, 2016, in an amount not to exceed $37,565.00.

15-2142 Ratification by the Board of Education of a Professional Services Contract between the District and Attitudinal Healing Connection, Inc., Oakland, CA, for the latter to provide: 1 Artist in Residence at West Oakland Middle School to use the side-by side professional development model (Services will be provided for 2 classroom teachers and 60 students); provide 2 Artists in Residence at Martin Luther King Elementary School (Services will be provided for 2 teachers and 40 students, with an in-depth focus on students in Special Education); 2 Artists in Residence at Lafayette Elementary School (Services will be provided for 3 teachers and 75 students); 3 Artists in Residence at Hoover Elementary School (Services will be provided for 3 teachers and 75 students); and there will be in-depth curriculum development and planning for the West Oakland Legacy Project, as described in the Scope of Work, incorporated herein by reference as though fully set forth, via the Teaching and Learning Department, for a total of 633.3 hours of service, for the term of October 26, 2015 through June 30, 2016, in an amount not to exceed $47,475.00.

15-2221 Approval by the Board of Education of Charter School Facilities Use Agreement between District and Education for Change (EFC) - Lazear Charter Academy, Oakland, CA, for the initial term from July 1, 2015 for twenty years as required by the State of California under the Charter School Facilities Program with the initial rent of $112,217 per year for the first year, subject to a 3% increase each year for four years; and three months after completion of the new Lazear building, the Parties shall set the rent for the remainder of the lease term; and, approval by the Board of Education of the MOU by and between EFC, the District and the State of California State Allocation Board and School Finance Authority whereby the District will hold title to the newly constructed Lazear Facilities, as required as a condition of the State loan to build a new Lazear campus.
