15-1591 Adoption by the Board of Education of Resolution No. 1415-0121B, revisions to Resolution No. 1415-0121 ("Adopting, Consolidating, Complying with Annual Organizational Meeting Requirements originally approved on January 5, 2015), to provide on a pilot trial basis for the period from August 10, 2015 through December 31, 2015, unless extended by the Board the following: 1) The first Regular Board meeting in every month shall be a "Study Session" held in the Committee Room at LaEscuelita Education Center. The Study Session shall commence at 4 PM with a closed session, and the open session shall begin at 5 PM. 2) The agendas for the Study Session shall include Closed Session, General public comment, the Study Session item(s), and Adoption of the General Consent Report. 3) On the 4th Monday of each month, or the 4th Tuesday if the Monday is a holiday, the Board shall meet as the "Board Public Engagement Meeting" to take public comments on all agenda items on the agenda to be considered by the Board at the Board Regular meeting usually held on the 4th Wednesday of each month Wednesday, except for September, November and December (see the calendar). 4) The Board Public Engagement Meeting shall include public comment on agenda items, Board member questions and Board engagement with the public. The Board Public Engagement Meeting will be held in the Committee Room at LaEscuelita Education Center, commencing at 5:30 PM. The public is strongly urged to attend the Board Public Engagement meeting to provide public comments on agenda items for the next Board meeting. 5) The second Regular Board meeting of the month, which is usually, the 4th Wednesday except for September, November and December (see the calendar) shall be a Regular meeting of the Board. The agenda for the Regular Board meeting shall include Closed session, Ceremonial Presentations, General Public Comment, Unfinished Business and New Business and General Consent Report. 6) The second Regular Board meeting of the month shall be held in the Great Room of the LaEscuelita Education Center, with closed session commencing at 4 PM and the open session commencing at 5 PM. General public comment will be scheduled for a total of 30 minutes, not to exceed 3 minutes per speaker, provided however, the Board President may determine the amount of speaking time allotted to each member of the public based upon the number of speakers and the number of agenda items. 7) The Agenda for the second Regular Board meeting of the month shall also include 30 minutes for members of the public to address the Board on agenda items. Public comments may not exceed 3 minutes per speaker, provided however the Board President may determine the amount of speaking time allotted to each member of the public based upon the number of speakers and the number of agenda items. 8) These changes shall be effective August 13, 2015.
