13-2589 Ratification by the Board of Education of a Professional Services Contract between District and Yari Sandel, Lafayette CA, for the latter to provide an additional 628 hours of direct on-site services for the peer Restorative Justice (RJ) Program by collaborating with site staff to identify, recruit 5 to 10 peer mediators (11-14 years old) that reflect the racial, ethnic, and academic diversity of the school; organize, create, and design training materials that teach conflict resolution, effective communications, problem solving, and restorative practices, shared with other Peer RJ Coordinators, who will work in pairs to help peers to resolve the differences and repair the relationship; coach peer RJ leaders to conduct an average of 20 to 35 restorative circles to respond to harm or conflict and support the school site in creating a safe, healthy and supportive school environment via the Family, School and Community Partnership Department at Montera Middle School, for the period August 13, 2013 through June 30, 2014, in an additional amount of $18,840.00, increasing the Contract not to exceed amount from $4,980.00 to $23,820.00. All other terms and conditions of the Contract remain in full force and effect.
