12-1878 Ratification by the Board of Education of a Professional Services Contract between District and Man Cheng, Berkeley, CA, for the latter to provide 217 hours of weekly sessions, in grades 3-5 classrooms for 300 students, in percussion, bowing, and plucking instruments; teach individual lessons and music theory to students; teach a music ensemble class; teach students musical techniques, note reading, proper phrasing of Chinese and other multicultural folksongs and orchestral music; provide instruction on the history of Chinese and Asian music and will use music and songs to teach students about history as well as increase their literacy in History and Language Arts, at Lincoln Elementary School, for the period May 7, 2012 through June 18, 2012, in an amount not to exceed $6,500.00.
