12-1899 Ratification by the Board of Education of a Professional Services Contract between District and Tiago J. Robinson, Pinole, CA, for the latter to provide 128 hours of service working with school administration and teachers to support the academic success of rising ninth graders who have struggled academically in middle school or otherwise are identified by the District at high risk for dropping out of high school, by doing the following; (1) implement a college and career exploration course to really engage at risk students in their education through connecting them to the relevance of high school to their future careers; (2) support administrators and teachers in each of the ninth grade houses or smaller learning communities in their collaborative efforts to assure the academic success all 9th graders, with a particular emphasis on those most at risk, which include African-American students; and support administrators and teachers to develop and implement systems for increasing attendance and reducing suspensions, particularly for African-American and Latino males, at Oakland High School, for the period July 1, 2012 through August 15, 2012, in an amount not to exceed $5,504.00.
