I am in support of OUSD renewing Community School for Creative Education’s multi-year lease until 2026 with an option to renew pending charter renewal at our 2111 International Blvd location. I am an active member of local politics, have dedicated my career to serving and giving back in Oakland and surrounding areas. When my daughter Liv was in 1st grade, I was introduced to CSCE as an option for her. Traditional schooling was not working for my intelligent and creative daughter. Liv is now in 8th grade! We have spent the last 7-8 years deeply involved, committed and in awe of CSCE. As I grew from a single mother, to a married successful woman, we could have then put Liv almost anywhere- we CHOSE to keep our daughter at CSCE. As Chair of CSCE's school board of directors, I am proud to support this school even after Olivia moves on to High School next year. CSCE brings love to the neighborhood. The children deserve a school in THEIR neighborhood and a consistent education. Pls Approve!

As Executive Director of Oakland Community Organizations (now Faith in Action East Bay), I was proud to support the team of parents and educators who founded this school. I have remained a staunch support since then. I think this is an education program that is serving the children of Oakland in a unique way. I urge the OUSD board to take the necessary steps to extend the lease for CSCE. Thank you for your attention.

I am in support of the school board renewing the lease for CSCE for years ‘22-‘26. This school is doing so much important work to address a whole-person education for these students. The small community is truly a kind one- I see older students respecting younger ones, and middle schoolers learning to think beyond themselves and take responsibility for their actions in a caring and supportive environment. There is so much joy here, and that feels especially important after the year+ of COVID. Our students need this social-emotional support now more than ever. There is also an eagerness to learn from all the students I haven’t seen in many other schools, and that culture can only come from a group of dedicated staff. Please renew the lease, the San Antonio and East Oakland community needs this school.

I strongly oppose Board Policy 5141.29 – COVID-19 Student Vaccine Requirement. I am a mother of two and will not allow my kids to get this vaccine giving it is still relatively new and long term effects are unknown. Religious or personal belief exemptions for student immunization should be allowed. If not, I will have to pull my kids out of school or move to a different state.

I am in support of OUSD renewing Community School for Creative Education’s multi-year lease until 2026 with an option to renew pending charter renewal at our 2111 International Blvd location.

My son is a kindergartener at CSCE and it is so important to my family and many other families whose children attend this school that the school remain at 2111 International Blvd location because being in this location allows the surrounding community's learners to be able to benefit from CSCE's equity-focused whole child Model and rich, arts-infused, highly personalized curriculum. CSCE has truly been a positive and enriching learning environment for my son.

Also, educational stability is crucial for student success. Moving the school would cause tremendous disruption to the learners, and it would be especially unconscionable to move the school and cause further disruption after students and families have already endured over a year and a half of disruption due to the covid19 pandemic.

I am in support of OUSD renewing Community School for Creative Education’s multi-year lease until 2026 with an option to renew pending charter renewal at our 2111 International Blvd location.

I am a parent of a kindergartner at CSCE, and here we have found a wonderful, supportive school for our son. Moreover, we have found a school rooted in its community, where part of the curriculum allows the students to engage with, grow in, and learn from that community.

What higher purpose for this site than as a school so important to its community could there be?

I am in support of OUSD renewing Community School for Creative Education’s multi-year lease until 2026 with an option to renew pending charter renewal at our 2111 International Blvd location.

It is important to me that CSCE does not move location because there is a lot of love here. CSCE students, CSCE families, and CSCE staff care deeply about each other and the progressive development of our community. Moving this school to a different location after the devastating affects of COVID would cause more issues for this community, and for our families at CSCE.

The students of CSCE has become accustomed to this location, they love it here. CSCE students aren’t sure where we would go to. The sudden move would and could confuse families, they wouldn’t know where to go, resulting in a decline of family enrollment. Also, I’m not sure if CSCE would be able to find another location in a timely manner. We just want to keep our CSCE family, our community together. Please help us do that.

It is important to me that CSCE does not move location because of the following reasons.
    1. I like the small class size of teacher to students ratio.
    2. Regular communication from the teacher about my son progress.
    3. Activities/events the school offers
    4. The is staff is friendly, positive, and care about the students.
    5. The distance is perfect for me to pick up my son either by car or walking.
    6. The gate current location have low traffic making it safe for drop off and pickup.
    7. My son enjoy school so much he ask regularly way he cannot stay longer.

I support OUSD renewing Community School for Creative Education’s multi-year lease until 2026 with an option to renew pending charter renewal at 2111 International Blvd.

With all of the changes that have impacted our community, it's important to me that CSCE does not move location because it's become a beloved hub for our community. Even before my child attended CSCE, I appreciated this school's presence, activism, and contributions in the neighborhood. Now, it's a beloved play space for my children... from their care for the gardens, to the artwork, to the celebrations... this school is exactly where it needs to be. I can't imagine 2111 International Blvd being used for anything better... and I can't imagine CSCE being granted a comparable facility.

I am in support of OUSD renewing Community School for Creative Education’s multi-year lease until 2026 with an option to renew pending charter renewal at our 2111 International Blvd location.

It is important to me that CSCE does not move location because CSCE provides quality education to my child, and it is the perfect location for my child and family. My child feels safe going to school every day. I see CSCE leadership take good care of the campus and surroundings. Before the pandemic, the school hosted family volunteer workdays to pick up trash and illegal dumping around the campus. Right before the reopening, we refresh paint and wall art for students' wellness. The overall safety and atmosphere of the neighborhood have been improved over the years. I love everything CSCE does at the 2111 International Blvd location. We will not be able to commute to the new location.

    請讓 CSCE 留在現有地址!

I am in support of OUSD renewing Community School for Creative Education’s multi-year lease until June 30, 2026 with an option to renew beyond 2026 pending charter renewal at our 2111 International Blvd location. We work hard to provide a safe learning and gathering environment for our students, families, and community. When our children and families walk through our doors or gates, they are met with our hard-working team who strive to strive to educate the whole child. We also open our doors to the community as a safe meeting space, have a community food pantry, and work to keep the neighborhood safe and clean for all. 2111 International is within walking distance for many families and highly accessible via public transit. Please keep CSCE at 2111 International.

After 6 preschools my child is finally in a school that provides a safe space for her to be her true self. Other schools shamed and demeaned her.
Moving this school would make it inaccessible to my family. This is a truly unique place. Please don't take it away from our family.

It is important to me that CSCE does not move location because school is really important to me has a single mother I work hard to show my children what it takes , I go to laney college and it is a CSCE location is great for me . Another reason mainly is for the kids , my daughter knows the school and loves it. Loves the teachers and feel safe. It would be a shame to have to pick up and move the whole school . Please stay ! Coming back from Covid there is so many things we have to catch up with and it would be a blessing if we don’t move the school, let’s build our school community even more then before staying in the same place would be better for the students and parents at this time and for the years going forward .I really love how Oakland is the first to have this school here please stay!

I am in support of OUSD renewing Community School for Creative Education’s multi-year lease until 2026 with an option to renew pending charter renewal at our 2111 International Blvd location.

It’s important to me that CSCE does not move location because it’s an essential school to the neighborhood. CSCE provides a safe & enriching environment for the diverse families in the San Antonio neighborhood. Asking to uproot & displace the stable education of the children and families currently attending this school during the continuing unprecedented times of a tragic pandemic would be extremely stressful & traumatic. There already has been so much loss, change, and trauma these past almost two years. Please have compassion for the children, the families & staff of CSCE. The current location of CSCE provides stability for the students and the community with their food pantry. There’s no other schools like CSCE within a safe walking distance in the San Antonio Neighborhood.
