13-2029 Approval by the Board of Education of a Professional Services Contract between District and Rethink Autism, New York, NY, for the latter to Reduce Operational Costs in its Autism Program by: 1. Increase District capacity to provide appropriate placement options for students with disabilities, thus reducing out-of-district placements; 2. Reduce costs associated with third-party training, support and consultation. Improve Data Monitoring & Accountability: 3. Facilitate data-monitoring of IEP progress across the district; 4. Provide IEP data comparisons on a school-by-school basis. Increase Teacher Capacity: 5. Improve teacher and paraprofessional proficiency with implementing research-based Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and inclusive practices programs. 6. Increase the number students with disabilities being served in the Least Restrictive Environment (LRE). Enhance Program Quality: 7. Standardize practices across schools and classrooms to facilitate more effective student transitioning; 8. Increase parent satisfaction through enhanced training, involvement and transparency, for the period July 1, 2013 to June 30, 2014, in an amount not to exceed $225,000.00.
