I stand before you on behalf of the Oakland NAACP with a clear message: Next week, the voices of Oakland voters will be heard.
On November 3rd, voters, including eligible OUSD students, will help determine this Board’s future leadership. But the real question is: What happens next?
Will we continue to witness fiscal instability, declining academic outcomes, decisions made in silos, and families whose voices go unheard? Or will we finally see transparency, accountability, and leadership that puts students above politics and personal alliances?
Campaign contributions and endorsements may influence elections, but they cannot buy public trust or produce student achievement.
Public service is not about power or position. It is about delivering on promises made to Oakland’s children and families.
Remember, it is not about you. It is not about me. It is about the children.
Next Tuesday, Oakland will speak.
Will this Board and Superintendent FINALLY listen?
