R.-74 26-2099 Ratification by the Board of Education of a Services Agreement 2026-2027 by and between the District and DB Luv LLC, Oakland, CA, for the latter to provide sporting opportunities to students with disabilities through collaboration with school sites and external organizations as outlined by the Oakland Athletic League (OAL): engage in regular communication with the Oakland Athletic League to understand specific needs and requirements for inclusive sporting events; actively participate in the planning and coordination of a minimum of three sporting events throughout the year, working closely with school sites and external organizations; contribute time and effort to ensure the events are accessible and accommodating for students with disabilities, adhering to any guidelines provided by the OAL; seek opportunities to secure resources, sponsorships, or partnerships that may enhance the quality and inclusivity of the sporting events; attend relevant training sessions / workshops recommended by the OAL to better understand and address the unique needs of students with disabilities in a sporting context; make a positive impact on the lives of students with disabilities through the promotion of inclusive sporting opportunities; support the launch of the Student Athlete Leadership Council in partnership with Under Amour's Project Rampart; work to identify a student for each sport at every high school and convene a once a month meeting; track participation and engagement on the Student Athlete Leadership Council in addition to assigning duties for middle school event coverage, via Oakland Athletic League (OAL), for the period of September 21, 2026 through June 30, 2027, in an amount not to exceed $80,000.00.
