I'm a parent of students at Peralta and Claremont and we have an IEP. Please vote yes on this resolution. International studies link more classroom screen time with lower performance in reading, math, and science. Pediatricians link excessive device use to depression, anxiety, and addictive behavior. And research shows nearly two-thirds of children's apps are deliberately designed to keep kids hooked. Our district gives students guidance on healthy eating and access to health centers — screen use deserves the same evidence-based care. This resolution creates guardrails while protecting access for students whose IEPs or 504 plans require devices. It's balanced, it's protective, and it's overdue. Please pass it. Thank you.
