R.-231 26-1363 Approval by the Board of Education of a Memorandum of Understanding and Engagement Policy (MOUEP) and a Data Sharing Agreement (DSA), each, by and between District and Lozano Smith, LLP, for the latter, under the MOUEP, to "provide legal services to Oakland Unified School District ("OUSD" or "District") for civil litigation matters, charter school matters and other legal services on an as needed basis ("SERVICES")." Counsel or Contractor hereinafter includes (to the extent they exist): Counsel Board members, officers, trustees, and directors; Counsel employees, agents, consultants, contractors and subcontractors, representatives, and other similar individuals; and volunteers and others unpaid persons under Counsel's direction, invitation, or control "Counsel Agents", for the period of July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2029, in an amount not to exceed $500,000.00 in a fiscal year and under the DSA, defining the terms and conditions of the District's transmission of or sharing of data with Lozano Smith, LLP, and the protection by Lozano Smith, LLP, of such data, for the same term as the MOUEP, each, via the Office of the General Counsel.
