We have worked to amend board policy now we need to start enforcing it, pushing back for departments to plan for change. These items alone represent a half dozen positions. I think these are exactly the kinds of contracts to pull and beg the questions, "How will this be done differently next year?"
Translation: Almost $3,000,000
Security Cameras: $121,000
Graphic Design: $34,500
Fire Vegetation Removal:
Two Fire Vegetation Contracts $85,000 and $65,000, This work is required by the city, Something that could be done by an expanded team over a few months, and these two contracts alone would expand that team by 1 person. Combined with our tree contracts we could have 2-3 more gardeners saving us money and working most of the year to beautify our campuses and provide redundancy year round. Again I would ask that you question this contract and how we are addressing this work next year. There is a lot of work to be done, its time for departments to plan for next year to be different.
