OUSD Parent at November 10, 2025 at 10:37pm PST

I’m hopeful that OUSD is going to start confronting the pervasive Jewish and Israeli hatred present in this district. It’s unfortunate that it takes lawsuits instead of OUSD responding to the Jewish students and families that have raised concerns. Many of us have stories of ignored UCPs. All we have asked is OUSD to follow the existing district policies regarding anti-discrimination and controversial topics. Instead, we got the barest lip service and delaying tactics.

There is a way to fix this and turn things around.

OUSD should publicly admit that they will do better in a document signed by each member of the BOD and the district leadership.

OUSD should apply the same energy and support that they gave to important causes like Black Lives Matter and Stop Asian Hate, to their Jewish and Israeli-American community.

Stop actively (and passively) encouraging hatred.

Lest there be confusion of where this Jew parent stands. F Netanyahu. F Israeli policy towards Palestinians.

I support the litigation by the OJA, and the findings by the state of CA that there has been systematic antisemitism within OUSD. I encourage the school board to direct district leadership to follow through with the demands of the state report and to meet the deadlines of training site and district leadership on antisemitism by winter break. All site APs, principals, and CSMs, as well as central office staff need training. Please consider hiring the amazing Project Shema for this work. Also, please ensure that the district complies with the finding that OUSD needs to comply with competing timely investigations of ombudsman complaints of discrimination within 60 days. I filed one last January that I still not have heard a word about. That is completely unacceptable, and part of why Jewish staff and students are leaving this district in droves. This is illegal conduct. Please do better. - signed, a parent and district staff member who cares and wants OUSD to be safe for all.
