C.-1 25-2402 Discussion and possible recommendation of response, by the Budget and Finance Committee to the Board of Education, regarding;
- CONDITIONAL approval of 2025-26 Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) & Adopted Budget - Action Required (September 12, 2025); and
- 2024-25 Annual Report Regarding Fiscal Solvency of OUSD (September 15, 2025).
I continue to highlight the need for the district to be fiscally responsible in regards to the overall budget, by managing the many funding sources, responsibly. Being that 1 million was already taken from a block grant to fund towards flo water machines, i repeatedly ask the board to not take anymore money away from arts and music education. For the 2nd time, my son had an opportunity and was signed up for a music program, but after hearing from the director the other day, no other students his age had signed up, so he continues to only have me as his music teacher. He needs so much help, i ask that no more funding be taken away, and that there's oversight from the budget and finance Chair. as i brought up these concerns prior to the money being taken, and was told, it was not gonna happen, but it ended up that the money was taken and used, and it seemed without knowledge from the chair of this committee...
