Where has the organizational directory for OUSD gone? How can the public be expected to understand who is in charge of what if this material is not easily accessible. If it is under development, I suggest that an "Under Development" Page be posted, but this seems to be going on for over a month now.
While the facilities are updated with programs being implemented, I Urge the Board to be financially responsible
relating to services and hiring of staff, but also, the Community MUST Feel that their voices are valued and respected, On last weeks meeting,me be the voice of the disability community was silenced by the majority of the BOARD, and it's a REAL Problem that the majority of the Board Included the Board President, Vice President and members who's supposed to stand for blacks and disabled students. If this Board doesn't change their ways, More Harm will continue to be done, Please Stand For Fairness and Respect for All, and Stop being selective on who you support, cause ALL need to be respected and Valued.
Without Fair and Equal Treatment to Parents and caregivers, and students
who suffer as a result of unfair practices,
Dear Board members and Superintendent Saddler,
My name is Meg Roberto Williams, parent of a student in Montclair’s ESN classroom. While tonight’s update highlights “schools at work,” children in specialized programs are in unsafe, unstable conditions. Students are in their second year without a permanent teacher. IEP services are not delivered, and safety incidents continue. Asking for help-leadership told us we are “welcome to explore legal remedies.”
I contacted Board President Brouhard, Directors Hutchinson, Berry, Latta. Directors Berry and Latta responded, and Director Latta offered to visit. We ask the Superintendent and Board to:
Conduct site visits with families of ESN classrooms
Issue a written contingency plan for staffing, para training, and IEP services.
Provide a board-level response on how OUSD will comply with IDEA and ensure safety for our students.
Our students deserve qualified teachers, stability, and their rights upheld.
