L.-52 25-1254 Approval by the Board of Education of a No Cost Services Agreement (SA) and Data Sharing Agreement (DSA), each, by and between the District and the University of San Francisco (USF), San Francisco, CA, for the latter through the SA to provide its Upward Bound (UB) Project Workshops; Topics offered include study skills, goal setting, time management, college exploration, career exploration, self-esteem and values, and anything else that may assist participants in preparing fo college. Individual Advising/Transcript Evaluation: One on one appointments with a USF UB Advisor. Special emphasis is always on ensuring that students are on track to graduate from high school and are receiving adequate college preparatory coursework. Connections to high quality academic tutoring services. Advice & assistance in secondary course selection, and if applicable, initial postsecondary course selection. Assistance in preparing for college entrance exams and completing college admissions applications. Information on the full range of federal student financial aid programs and benefits (including federal Pell grant awards and loan forgiveness) and resources for locating public and private scholarships. Counseling services designed to improve the financial and economic literacy of the participants or the participant's parents. Assistance in completing financial aid applications. Connections for participants to education or counseling services designed to improve the financial and economic literacy of the participants or the participant's parents, at no cost to the District, for the period of July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2027, and under the DSA, the terms and conditions of District's transmission of or sharing of pupil data with the University of San Francisco and the protection by the University of San Francisco, of such data, for the same term as SA, via the High School Linked Learning Department.
