It has been brought to my attention that some members of the Board of Directors are considering terminating Superintendent Johnson Trammel's contract before the end of contract term. This is very disconcerting given the fiscal position of the district. Her contract is set to expire in 2026; and if it is terminated, she walks away with the amount the board voted to pay her. To do so is not fiscally sound, especially as the district is close to ending its' receivership status next year. It appears that some board members want the district to remain fiscally insolvent and in receivership or a complete takeover. If the Board terminates Superintendent Trammel's contract your actions will cause the demise of Oakland Unified School District. I call of the spirit of Mr. Oscar Wright to remind you, "It's not about you, it's not about me..." and I add Superintendent Trammel, ... it's about the children!
