I have an autistic child,, and a mother in our group posted about the Vice President recommending at the Februarry's meeting, 1 million in cuts from music. The parent was silenced last night, and unable to speak out against these actions, but I post in support. The fact that her emails haven't been responded too, speaks Volumes that the People in charge of the Board are not in it, for the best interest of ALL Children!! We Call on the Board President and the Vice President to Urgently respond to the parent right away, and not cut music. These are resources that serve our children with disabilitiies in a way they can learn and get better, Think about the children.

I'm writing to ask the President and Vice President to please respond to Ms Haynes's email. I hurt for her and her child, as she's trying to support him in the best way she can with no help from anyone. I saw the post and I supported the petition on change.org and received an update about tonight's meeting. People tried to speak poorly of the former president, but at least he was responsive, and brought light to the issues, the VERY important issue that our Disabled Black Students deserve to be in the most joyful and loving space, and through music and respectable language, with ZERO tolerance for any kind of hate speech If u really cared about our students, you would not treat their parents (for whom these children only have) with such lack of respect, and harmful actions. To sit back and ignore them, condones their suffering. Reach down in your heart & ask yourself, what if this was my child? They deserve to get the best chance, why propose cuts to music, it's disgraceful

I work in special education and i am writing in support of the music resolution. we learned that your vice president proposed 1 million in cuts from music, and that you intentionally silenced public speakers that wanted to ask the question about why this was done, and this is not the first time this has been done. you are attacking our most fragile students, and why!! Haven't they suffered enough!! to the Board President, and Vice President Why don't you make a public announcement or some kind of APOLOGY TO THE FAMILIES!! YOU ARE Creating More harm than GOOD!!!! This upsets me, cause not only do i work with children with differences, we have love ones in our family, why don't you have a heart, and respond!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The board must understand the impact of the proposal made last month,
just how deeply harmful & dismissive it was. Truly, to the needs of my son, and all children like him, that
the proposal was even made, and why? for what,. This was a direct attack against our children, what's
further upsetting, is that our emails have been ignored, no Apology, no nothing,
No public validation that an error was made, this is truly hurtful. I never had a chance to ask the question, even though
my hand was raised for hours, and I've been silenced!! Now I know,
THE Board leadership, cannot be trusted, based on their actions, they do not care about our most vulnerable students,
i'm at a complete loss, but this doesn't stop me from continuing on being my sons music teacher, he can always count on me, when NO ONE ELSE is there. Please JOIN us for Autism awareness next month. I have been on this meeting for over 5 hours, , so much disrespect has been Given towards me & the needs
    of my son!!
