W.-4 25-0406 Adoption by the Board of Education of Resolution No. 2425-0210 - In the Matter of Delegation of Authority to Superintendent of Schools to Make Personnel Appointments.
One need not think too long about why such a resolution might be necessary. One could think of the actions of former General Counsel Josh Daniels during the school closure debate in 2022, calling unlicensed private security on community members at an OUSD school site, security personnel who went on to illegally detain (i.e., falsely imprison) an OUSD community member. One could think of the failure of the current Chief Systems and Services Officer to adequately and proactively respond to the ongoing lead contamination crisis affecting the district (6 months into this and OUSD has no way of tracking the repairs that have been done?). Or the truly scandalous news that the superintendent is looking to hire former OPD chief Armstrong as Safety Director. All positions that this resolution would remove from the superintendent's absentee "oversight". Rightly so.
