Hello, my name is Alexander Lee and I am the Technology Coordinator for AIMS. I have worked at AIMS for over 9 year. In my time at AIMS I have seen the amazing work that has happened here. I am proud to be part of a school that serves a diverse community: African American, Muslim, Hispanic, and Asian. We are also a Title 1 school serving many families in need. As the Technology Coordinator I am proud that we are able to provide each student with a Chromebook to do their school work. Knowing that we serve a community that is in need it is great that we are able to provide breakfast and after school snack along with our lunch for our students.

AIMS is a place where I see a amazing dedication from the teachers that each of them stive for academic excellence. I see teachers working with students after school and we even provide Saturday school to ensure students falling behind can keep up. We also have excellent SpEd and ELD departments that support our students with needs.

Good Evening. My name is Julia Li. I am the Special Education Compliance Program Manager for AIMS. I have been working for AIMS since the 2020 school year. I have been in the public school system for more than 10 years and I am drawn to the positive culture at AIMS. AIMS allows students to make a way to a better future. The AIMS community demonstrates respect and love for everyone no matter their race or skin color. Students are making a different in the community and in ourselves to be something better. The staff goes above and beyond to help students learn and ask for help. Teachers are always willing to help students and make sure they get to the point where they learn how to help each other. This is very unique. Please continue to support AICPS II. Thank you!

My name is Danielle Glick-Scroggins. I work as the Coordinator for Public Affairs and Recruitment in AIMS Marketing and Communications Department. I have been working at AIMS for the past year and a half and find the AIMS community to be very welcoming and inclusive.

In my opinion, the AIPCS II team works well together to create a safe and enjoyable learning environment for all the students. There are many educational opportunities at AIMS, not only in the classroom, but in the student clubs, ELOP program, and field trips to local museums, libraries, and businesses.

I think the focus on academic excellence, discipline, and college preparedness offers students a unique opportunity to become leaders from an early age. AIPCS II also has a very diverse student body and, in my experience, each student has received the unique support they need to excel both in their education and in the social-emotional awareness.

    Suzen Chu 6 months ago

My name is Suzen Chu, and I serve as the Director of Marketing Communications and Recruitment at AIMS. This is my sixth year at AIMS. I fully endorse AIPCS II's commitment to Oakland students. My team and I have tirelessly worked to reach the unreachable, underrepresented minority groups, including the homeless, foster care, new immigrants, refugees, students with special needs, and Black and Hispanic/Latino communities. We walked into nearly 60 community centers and libraries, plus countless local businesses in West Oakland, Jack London Square, Chinatown, and the Fruitvale area, inviting them to apply to our school and join the lottery process.

AIPCS II offers a unique educational experience focusing on academic excellence, character development, and community engagement. It provides an inclusive environment where every student feels valued.

Please continue supporting AIPCS II's mission for the benefit of all Oakland students. Thank you.

I would like to introduce myself to the committee as the AIMS K12 Charter Prep director of the special education department since fall of 2022.
Additionally , I will briefly state that in creating a new department we are working hard to make incremental progress with recruiting and hiring experienced staff.
We have been lucky enough to find dedicated people, across the organization, who have helped move our identification rate of students with disabilities from 4.4 to 5.3% by working together to support the referral process and getting interventions and accommodations to our most challenged students.
