T.-29 23-0822 Ratification by the Board of Education of Amendment No. 2, Services Agreement 2022-2023 by and between the District and Benjamin Knowles, Oakland, CA, for the latter to create supplemental materials for designated ELD curriculum to support English Learners and Long-Term English Learners, in particular, in accessing the adopted EL Ed ELA curriculum in grades 6-8 in the District, as described in Exhibit A of the Agreement, reducing the amount of the Agreement by $3.75, decreasing the not to exceed amount of the Agreement from $16,875.00 to $16,871.25, for the period of September 10, 2022 through December 15, 2022 All other terms and conditions of the Agreement remain in full force and effect.
Help me understand why a resolution that must have cost more than $3.75 to draft, has been drafted and will be voted on by a beleaguered board which has, um, quite enough to be getting on with, in order to go back in time and possibly spend $3.75 less than was spent.
The Biblical phrase about straining out a gnat and then swallowing a camel is not one I'm able to get out of my head here.
