On Thursday, September 15th, we learned that the district is cutting funding for 1.4 FTE teacher positions at our site. We experienced a traumatic accidental shooting at the end of August. The district promised MPA students, teachers, staff, and parents additional support staff. Not only have we not seen any of those additional resources, but they want to reduce an already lean staff. Losing this funding means a major restructuring of our master schedule, completely disrupting student and staff schedules and any sense of normalcy.
We are hoping to get your support to prevent this staffing and funding loss. We are a small school and the loss of even one person has a severe impact on student learning and well being.
