By changing requirements for an MTSS coordinator position not only are you overwhelming that one person but you are are eliminating valuable people. It's not right and I and the team at Bridges Academy elementary school have gotten so much help from PBIS and Attendance coaches over the years. As a CSM I already wear many hats and having central office coaches has helped me learn and grow. They have taken on tasks to support me. We started PBIS at our school 8 years ago with the help of a PBIS coach. Our attendance teams have always consisted of the attendance liaison and their attendance was the most consistent of all the members. Their availability is more flexible as it is shared by networks and so we have a chance to collaborate and see results faster because of that. I don't see one person managing all of our needs in a timely manner.
