T.-6 22-0223 Adoption by the Board of Education of Resolution No. 2122-0157 - District's Capital (Facilities) Program - Approval of Measure Y District Initiative Work Plan.
I don't remember voting for Bond measure money to be used to close and consolidate schools. I realize you are not voting on any of that $7 million tranche tonight but it is one more example of how closing schools costs money.
At the facilities meeting last week it was clear that the Board has no clear idea of what all this money is for, you should require more detail before you vote. And what is "mothballing and securing" a site? Sounds like you plan to close schools and then let the buildings lie fallow. You forget that we have a bunch of charter schools who would like nothing more than to set up shop in some of the schools you voted to close, and under Prop 39 they are entitled to them. What will that mean to our "declining enrollment"?
