I oppose the new testing protocol sent yesterday by the district which poses a major inequity to our communities. It puts the responsibility of detecting COVID cases on families, since school-site testing is only for classes who have a confirmed case and are in modified-quarantine. This new protocol leaves out families who do not have easy access or time for regular COVID testing, and puts at risk the majority of our unvaccinated school community (since we are an elementary school). We demand more testers from Concentric at our site in order to pool and rapid test all classes, not just classes in modified quarantine. We know that we have the funds and materials for this, we just need the personnel to make sure we can stop the spread and keep our classes in-person.
