V.-2 21-1995 Approval by the Board of Education of Resolution 2122-0074 - Award of Bid (RFP No. 21-103NS) for Foodservice Equipment and Supplies to TriMark, Inc., San Diego, CA, in an amount not to exceed Two Million Five Hundred Thousand Dollars ($2,500,000) per school year, as the responsive, responsible bidder, for an initial period of three (3) fiscal years with two one-year options to renew upon further approval by the Board.
Do board members fully understand how much money is being spent in connection with the opening of the Central Kitchen? How is it possible that in addition to the construction costs, the equipment costs, the consultants, the new employees, the retraining etc associated with the Central Kitchen we also are upgrading multiple school site kitchens (see Hillcrest and Piedmont Ave Measure Y expenditures of $3.7 million) and now spending up to $12.5 million to upgrade school site kitchens to receive the food prepared at the Central Kitchen?? I wish you would request an extensive accounting of costs associated with Food Service in OUSD.
