Please support the health and safety of students and their communities by testing weekly at all sites! Detection aids prevention! We have the money to stop disruptive quarantines and closures in their tracks with weekly testing! Not acting is HARMFUL to our youth whom OUSD claims to
always serve first. Prove you serve them first! LAUSD is doing weekly testing why can’t we? We can! There is no good reason why we can’t with $300 million in COVID funds from the state and feds
As a teacher in D1, I can say how desperately weekly testing is needed at each site. The testing closest to my school is at OIHS and they have run out of PCR tests, and are only administering those to symptomatic people. That means anyone who needs a PCR to get back into the classroom cannot receive one and folks who are trying to test regularly to ensure the safety of our community cannot. This is unacceptable. What's more, when the mobile testing did come to our site teachers who were in a meeting were turned away from testing because the providers hit their time limit. We need this resolution to pass, no amendments.
I am a teacher in deep East Oakland, where signing up on Primary and traveling to another site present almost insurmountable hurdles to many of the families I work with. We need easy, frequent testing for all students and staff!
Weekly testing at every school site is urgently needed. Please PASS T-4 with NO amendments to use our Covid relief dollars to offer weekly Covid testing at every school.
Regular testing is key to limiting community spread and keeping our schools open. Please give our students in OUSD the same opportunity to continue learning in person that is being offered to kids in private schools. This is a fundamental issue of equity.
Parents, please approve the immediate resignation of Donnie Barclift, Field Supervisor, Nutrition Services.
In the late 1980's Mr Barclift severely flogged two 11 year old boys with a lumber beam. One of those children later died in 2009 from a drug overdose. This man is a scum bag child beater, not a "food hero". He sought employment with OUSD to be rewarded for his violent act against those kids and potentially other kids. He even featured last year on his youtube channel a man flogging another man unconscious (he later removed the video after warned by OUSD). Despite being informed about Mr Barclift, OUSD keeps Mr Barclift employed fulfilling his desire to make his victims pay him. Paramountly, protect your child from this man. Secondly, the decision for OUSD to keep employing this man symbolizes to every child victim of severe assault, the employees OUSD is willing to keep in their company.
As a parent and a teacher, I support making weekly testing available at all OUSD school sites.
We need weekly testing at each school site.
We need weekly testing available at ALL school sites as a proactive measure to stop the spread of COVID in our communities.

I am in support of OEA's push for mandatory testing and any other necessary safety measures at all OUSD school sites.
Go get 'em OEA!

I strongly support regular COVID-19 testing at all school sites. I hope the board approves this measure.

Please make Covid reporting a high priority by updating families at least 2x weekly.
Please pass this resolution as we're seeing increases of positive cases in the schools. The dashboard needs to be updated twice a week, if possible.
