In the approved Board Resolution "Advancing District's Citywide Plan Work" (approved 11/20), by this April the staff is to present the Board an analysis of the impact to school quality and to district finances of the Cohort 1 and 2 expansions, redesigns, mergers, and closures. This is crucial before the Board entertains any proposals for more in the future. To date there hasn't been any proof that these actions either save money or improve academics. On the contrary, we've seen the harm they have caused, as well as the additional expense (e.g. expense of adding portables at Sankofa United after closing Kaiser, and losing students from only about 25% Kaiser families switching to Sankofa).
Will staff present such an analysis by next month?
