W.-2 21-0013 Submission to the Board of Education of Aspire Public Schools - Aspire ERES Academy - Material Revision - Request to Raise Enrollment Cap from 250 to 550, for Grades TK-8 - July 1, 2019 - June 30, 2024 - pursuant to Education Code Section 47605.
In general, I oppose expanding seats at charter schools as long as there is capacity open at district schools. I am having a hard time understanding how one school (Eres) that is part of one charter chain (Aspire) can make a commttment on behalf of another school (Epic MIddle) from another chain (EFC). I also wonder about the numbers: what is Epic's actual enrollment? What is the legal basis for OUSD's view of Eres current enrollment cap? If Eres finds that so different from its own understanding of its enrollment cap, why is it applying for a material revision?
