I support the George Floyd Resolution! I am glad to see a system like CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) included and aligned. Please strongly consider adding site administrators to the CPI training list. It is incredibly helpful for everyone to be using similar strategies and vocabulary in working with students who may be having a tough time.
As members of the White Accountability Group at Mills College, we represent a group of educators, college admission counselors, and student support specialists committed to promoting socially just educational outcomes for Oakland students.We stand with BOP and urge you to support their proposed 3 phased process of implementation being; Phase 1: Reasonable Compliance and Safety Plan, Phase 2: Innovative Safety Plan, Phase 3: Transformative Safety Plan, to implement police free schools in a collective transformative way.
Students and their families in Oakland deserve authentically safe schools free from police presence and we support BOP's implementation as an important step towards this goal.
