I have been with the AIMS family for 6 years. AIMS school has benefited our children greatly. The quality of education is very high. I am so proud to be part of the AIMS family and my children are very grateful to be part of it too. So I am supporting AIMS to get a renewal for the coming 5years.

I have been apart of the AIMS staff for the last eight years. I am an Oakland native and it has been an amazing experience working for this charter. We not only provide equitable education and support services for students of Oakland, but we have cultivated an environment of academic excellence and high achievement. I am proud to be able to serve and support an organization that puts our children and families first.

AIMS: why do you report your Special Education Data in such an obscuring way? You serve 56 students with IEPs across your entire district, and despite language in your petition to the effect that you intend to contribute equitably to Special Education encroachment, in fact you pay less than do OUSD schools, and you have submitted a letter seeking to leave the Oakland SELPA. Board of Ed: what will you do to assure that AIMS does pay its fair share? Please work with AIMS and the Executive DIrector of Special Education to assure that there is in fact an equitable and enforceable agreement should you renew the charter.

I have been a part of the AIMS family for many years, and I wholeheartedly support the renewal of the school. Two of my children are currently attending the middle school and high school. Throughout the time that my children have attended the school, they have gotten a lit of support from their teachers to make sure that they are excelling academically, and socially.

I am thrilled to strongly endorse the AIMS MS renewal. This is a stellar school with admirable outcomes, especially for low income African American students. Kudos to the AIMS team for their hard work and the diligence required to create such outstanding outcomes. You make Oakland proud and as a community we need to urgently figure out how to replicate their success!

I heartily support renewal of the AIMS charter. As an Oakland parent of 3 young Black men (recent college graduates) and woman raised in a lower-middle class community, I can attest that our children need ample options to become successful. AIMS is a model school that addresses access to quality education and opens doors for our children, preparing them to become successful and resilient children of the world. The AIMS administration and staff and extremely committed to our Oakland children, serve as wonderful role models, and have produced outstanding results. We must make the reauthorization of AIMS a priority because AIMS successfully makes our children a priority!

This is one of two middle schools in the Bay Area (across ALL middle schools in the Bay Area) that was recognized by Innovate Public Schools for closing the achievement gap for high poverty African American students, which means their high poverty AfAm students on average outperformed the state average for all kids. This one is a no brainer.

AIMS has been an amazing experience for my children. My children have gained an ample amount of knowledge in mathematics, literature, science, and history. They are gaining knowledge in the fine arts arena of music and art. AIMs knows what it takes to prepare children for the future. We are proud to belong to the AIMS strong family. Our school community has proven time and time again what the results of hard work and excellence provides for students and their families. I strongly support the renewal for AIMS middle school and AIMS high school - Reed Family, parents of a 6th and 7th grade students

AIMS is a sure way for lower-income families to get their kids ready for college, for their children to strengthen their skills, and for their children to build character—all in a community that is safe, clean, and healthy.

As Treasurer on AIMS Board of Directors, I would like to urge each OUSD board member to vote for a 7-year renewal for the AIMS middle school and 5-year renewal for High School. Our finance committee has responsibly governed the process of turning dollars into education. Our academic achievements are top notch. We can handle difficult circumstances and here are a couple examples:
    1) closed the digital divide by supporting parents and students with online access and devices for remote learning
    2) made facility and procedural upgrades to support COVID 19 safety requirements

I am honored to say that this is my 6th year as an educator at AIMS! A year does not go by where I just feel completely grateful to teach at a school where teachers can really teach! AIMS provides an amazing structure that is balanced with required protocols and standards while offering an open amount of space for teachers to develop and educate within their own unique style. The social , emotional , and academic culture of the student body is so positive that it creates a setting for students to learn and again, for educators to effectively educated. This one fact that AIMS has developed an academic culture within the student body that motivates the students to want to learn, develop, and master their studies is one of the main reasons I continue to be an educator at AIMS!
