T.-1 20-1776 Approval by the Board of Education of Amendment of Board Bylaw - Agenda/Meeting Materials -BB 9322 Agenda - Posting and Notice Requirements, updating the Bylaw, as stated herein.
FYI, in San Leandro Unified, there is comment available for each item. I've been going to committee meetings ...often the appropriate staff wasn't there to report, often my questions took months to answer, and I was criticized for asking too many questions. I've submitted public resources and documents that have been ignored. Back when I was an active PTA parent at my child's school site, my director rarely got back to me when I sent emails of concern about district policy. It wasn't until I started attending Board meetings that I got their attention. Most of the people who come before you regularly serve as resources to others in the community. who have questions. Perhaps if the other parts of the system were working better, people wouldn't feel the need to go directly to the Board, but that's what it's taken to get attention for valid questions.
I like the idea of moving important matters forward. I sat through almost every meeting last year with my kinder (now 1st) and 3 year old until 10 pm to hear or comment on items. I want to also say public comment should NOT be cut on each item.
