Our son went to BMA for awhile, as we were assigned to Sankofa but it is closer to our home. We were very unimpressed by this school, as it is doing nothing different than Sankofa or any other OUSD public school, but draws students away from them. As Aspire is a large, national organization, is not focused on Oakland and serving the unique needs of this community. I think it's closure would help boost attendance at Sankofa.
