P.-16 19-2167 Adoption by the Board of Education of Resolution No. 1920-0170 - Amendment of Layoffs/Additions/Net of Classified Positions for Fiscal Year 2019-20.
While I don't doubt the value of these positions, I oppose the manner in which this recission is presented. Based on prior documents, these are at least the 7th and 8th recissions for Central Office, and while the $194K/yr impact of the two positions is listed, no context is provided such as current net of Central reductions, and how much of the Central reductions have been rescinded versus how much for sites. Further, while these positions are listed as "classified," it is clear that the salary range is managerial and, despite the Board's decision at the September 4th meeting of the need to clarify job positions, OUSD has still not clarified the categories of layoffs as between last year 2nd interim and the 2019-20 adopted budget-- recent documents provided at the LCAP show 51 different Central Budgets, far more than other districts. The need for these recissions is further evidence of damage from a rushed reduction process, which you are heading for again if you adopted item T-1.
