I am the Library Tech at Montera. I continue to disagree with the District's current recommendations for Measure G library funding. To keep quality libraries and library staff intact, please return the funding allocation to the process that has worked well for the the past 2 years, and has resulted in amazing progress at so many previously underfunded schools. Libraries will close, staff will lose jobs, and student success will suffer as a result. Keep libraries open and funded equitably.

I am the Library Tech at Bella Vista. I was one of the 12 clerks who went through the DVC Library Technology program to become a Library Tech, one that the district invested in. I want to make this clear: a library is not just a place for checkout. OUSD libraries are safe places, with rich curated collections, storytimes, and print & digital resources that support students and teachers. Students depend on school libraries as their only access to books. Keep libraries open and funded equitably.

I am the librarian at Frick Impact Academy and was recently told my position would be cut next year because of Measure G funding changes. The changes were made without feedback from those most impacted, especially my students who have enjoyed an open and professionally staffed library. Frick's library was closed for 10 years because of the inequitable distribution of funding OUSD leadership is going back to. How can the Board claim to care for our students and allow quality libraries to close?
