Ride for a Reason is a protest: California does not spend enough on schools. It’s fun to raise money for a few OUSD schools, but we cannot fund-raise to great schools. Our government must allocate more money. I urge the members of this board to demand more from the Legislature and the Governor. It is difficult to manage OUSD's budget with marginal amounts of money. We need 20% more per student for California to achieve the national average of US states. Please, as a board, demand more funds.
