16-2130 Approval by the Board of Education of a Professional Services Contract between the District and HERO, Oakland, CA, for the latter to provide: HERO will provide 1000 hours of service in the form of coaches providing a source of intervention to at-risk students by using community building and team building exercises and structured yard activities to support student academic focus and social development. HEROs will provide professional development for staff members to better connect with and support at-risk students in their own classrooms in order to reduce Emerson's suspension rates; for the period of August 01, 2016 through June 30, 2017 in an amount not to exceed $30,000.00.
