16-1442 Approval by the Board of Education of Amended Ground Lease - Joint Use Agreement between District and Kipp Bridge Charter School ("Kipp") for the use of the Lafayette Elementary School campus for the Initial Term from July 1, 2016 to June 30, 2036 and with two additional terms of 10 years, unless earlier terminated as provided in the Lease/Joint Use Agreement with a lease rate tied to the annual charter school facility use rate, with credits to the school for improvements not to exceed the first two year's lease amounts or a total of approximately $500,000.00 and the school's commitment to build an additional building on the campus at a cost of approximately $9.9 Million, with the new building becoming the property of the District at the end of the lease term; with Kipp agreeing to (1) pay prevailing wages, (2) the fee escalation provision in other charter agreements, (3) consider incorporation of CHPS standards into the design, (4) 25% local hire/local participation on the project, and (5) ensure community engagement and to designate a community liaison for the project.
