The revised Board Policy provides that effective July 1, 2016, except as expressly provided in this Board Policy or by statute, contracts for a "public project," as defined in California Public Contract Code section 22002, subdivision (c) involving an expenditure of $15,000 or more shall be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder, and contracts for the lease or purchase of equipment, materials, supplies or services if they involve an expenditure of $87,800 or more, as annually adjusted, shall be competitively bid.
