16-0185 Ratification by the Board of Education of a Professional Services Contract between the District and Parent Teacher Home Visit Project, Sacramento, CA, for the latter to provide services for the Parent Teacher Home Visit Project which will include an informational session and training for up to 120 educators and partners representing 8-14 schools across the K-12 spectrum, who are interested in building a foundation for family engagement at their school site via relational home visits; training will cover the PTHVP model, the research that supports the model, a step by step guide for effective home visits and an exploration and discussion of common barriers including language and cultural differences, fears and assumptions; specific deliverables include one district-wide informational session, co-organized with Office of Student and Family Engagement, two, three-hour training sessions for interested teachers, classified staff, and community partners, technical assistance to lead staff as it relates to problem solving, documentation, and evaluation of home visit strategy, via the Community Schools and Student Services Department, for the period of November 16, 2015 through June 30, 2016, in an amount not to exceed $10,000.00.
