14-2013 Ratification by the Board of Education of a Professional Services Contract between the District and Julia DeGuzman, Oakland, CA, for the latter to provide 400 hours of service to do a number of tasks that will serve to increase parent and community involvement at Oakland High School. The consultant will do a needs assessment to find out where volunteers are needed. At the same time, the consultant will make a database of parent and community volunteers, their skills and availability. Family Engagement Specialist shall work to increase parental engagement of low achieving students and will link school to home support and communication to help students increase academic success. Finally, the consultant will link areas of need with available volunteers, for the period July 1, 2014 through June 30, 2015, in an amount not to exceed $10,000.00.
